Our Dress Code
At Okinawa School of Performing Arts, we believe that a proper dress code is essential for comfort, safety, and discipline in dance. Each dance style requires specific attire to ensure dancers can move freely and confidently. From ballet leotards and tights to jazz pants and hip-hop sneakers, our dress code is designed to support each dancer’s performance and training. We ask that all students adhere to the required uniform for their specific class to create a professional and focused environment.

All students MUST be in a cover-up in the hallways and in the gym in general. An acceptable coverup includes but is not limited to, a dress, trash bag pants/shorts, t-shirt, jumper, jacket, and sweatsuit. Your dance clothing must be covered up by street clothing.
There are no street shoes allowed in the studio rooms at all, this is to preserve and protect our flooring. Dancers may NOT wear dance shoes in the hallways. Please bring your dancer in street footwear they can easily take on and off by themselves.

All students must have their hair secured back and out of their face. Ballet students with long hair must have their hair in a bun.

Ballet
Female students wear ballet pink or flesh-toned tights, slippers, and/or pointe shoes to match as close to the student’s natural skin tone as possible. This will prevent a break in the visual “line”, from the top of their head to the tip of their toes.

Primary 1 & 2 Dancers: Pink Leotard, pink or flesh-toned tights, pink or flesh-toned full-sole ballet shoes.
Ballet 1-4: Black Leotard, pink or flesh-toned tights, pink or flesh-toned ballet shoes. We prefer a stretch canvas split-sole shoe for students level 3 and up. Canvas full sole for levels 2 and down.

*Please note: Company Dancers may wear any color leotard in their classes.
